Cavargna – Molzano
From the mountain Village of Cavargna (which looks like a jewel set amongst the mountain tops) you will reach a ridge which separates Italy and Switzerland (Passo San Lucio 1550 m). This is a wonderful panoramic point over the entire Val Cavargna, the Swiss valleys, and the Monte Rosa which is one of the most impressive alpine mountains. The pass also has religious significance with a 15th century church. Climbing to Passo San Lucio you will pass through Monti, which is a typical mountain hamlet reachable only via a land rover track. From the ridge you will descend through forests, passing hamlets and typical local farms, down to Molzano.
